December 14, 2011
oh hi

12 days since i updated. that is insane. december is flying by. things on my mind:

1. i have to make this this weekend because i just can’t get it out of my head. in october i went to a wedding in SF and the night before they rented out a restaurant with the most amazing tuna ceviche. if you’re in SF, go to mamacita on chestnut for me.

2. kiehl’s essential oil. smells awesome and actually affordable. i wear the gardenia one. and of course they are discontinuing the entire line. lame.

3. oh and while it’s on my mind: today the blog doorsixteen mentioned trypophobia. reading about it and its popularity, i think so many people have this fear thanks to lotusboob (i won’t link to it, but you can google at your own risk) which terrified everyone all over the internet. so who knows how many people have a real fear of clustered holes, and how many are traumatized from lotusboob. but learning about this phobia was totally eye opening—about 3 years ago i was reading a recipe on the pioneer woman, and i had a REACTION to this garlic recipe. specifically, photos of garlic heads, and cloves being squeezed out. it was a bizarre, visceral reaction that i couldn’t explain. i remember showing it to alan and not being able to verbalize how i felt.

so, do i think i have trypophobia? not really. but it was so validating to read about this fear and basically explain my reaction! the garlic photos are here, for reference. you have to scroll down a bit.
